• Jan 21-25 (aka second week of Australian Open)
• Feb 15 (aka JCS @ Sony Centre)
• Jun 2-6 (aka second week of Roland Garros)
• Jun 30-Jul 4 (aka second week of Wimbledon)
• Jul 18 - Aug 5 (Rogers Cup week plus extra time)

My thoughts on the Rome Finale…

I’m not sure what to say. I need to watch it again. It was a lot to take in. Of course, first and foremost, it was not historically accurate - I didn’t expect it to be. Rome was full of squishy goodness tonight - soooooo much better than last week. Still not liking the new Octavian - he is too flat, no emotion whatsoever. Max's Octavian was far too clever - always thinking and calculating - one step ahead of everyone else like Octavian SHOULD BE.  The newbie, however, seems a little clueless. Let's call it what it was - a crappy weekend. Saturday morning I contributed the very last penny of my money towards the purchase of the bare minimum of groceries designed to last me until week end. Just when I thought I could sit back and enjoy Rome season two, I find confirmation that Simon Woods, that borderline mediocre actor who played Mr. Bingley in the Pride & Prejudice remake, is slated to take over the role of Octavian from my precious little angel as early as episode 4.

Guess who is coming to TIFF this September? He's tall, he's blonde, he's a new father and, for an all-too-brief period of time, he answered to the name Achilles. I only hope Toronto will be able to handle the media circus that will undoubtedly ensue.
